2010 has been a good year for cinema and has a lot to offer with quiet different kind of cinema, from the conventional drama brought in style ( honey, about elly) to the so-called ‘the future of cinema’ which a film that dont have the beginning middle and end, just the slice of life when one action can filled with multiple emotion (trash humpers, alamar). and also has a personal film to the director, from the mythical culture of the nation (uncle boonmee) to the social criticism ( blind pig who wants to fly, film socialisme), also theres some super stylish avant-garde film for us to slurp the great taste of cinema (the man’s woman and other stories, the temptation of st. tony), and also theres a great and educative documentary brought in a breezy style in ‘i wish i knew’. last but not least, theres also some great short films to put the icing on a very tasty cake.

“I really was not sure whether the film is about my mother’s life.
I do not even ask anything to her during the making of this film.
And then the movie, as the title, is really like a biography that is not official.
Biography is not concerned with truth and does not plan to become the truth.
Because life of a person, no matter how close we are, is a mere fiction for us?”
thats one bite of narration in this experimental short film by independent and unknown director from indonesia(mohammad thoha). this documenary is a mix of footage of the mother ( who has no idea that she was filmed by her son) and a stop-motion black and white manual drawing, and a footage of his old short film played backward.Read less
