Dystopia & apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic films.

By: pickledelephant

Dystopia aka anti-utopia – often an futuristic society that has degraded into a repressive and controlled state, often under the guise of being utopian.

Apocalyptic fiction is a sub-genre of science fiction that is concerned with the end of civilization either through nuclear war, plague, or some other general disaster. Post-apocalyptic fiction is set in a world or civilization after such a disaster.

These are the ones I’d like to call – watchable (not really sure about Logan’s Runs, but hey, it’s a classic with people in funny outfits).

PS. Needless to say (I’m going to do it anyway), the list is unfinished. I’m updating it whenever I watch/remember/am reminded of a film, that fits into this category and suits my taste.

20Dec11 one of the worst movies I've ever seen. sorry, but it has no place on my list, as I would never ever recommend it to another human being.

haven't seen The Warriors, yet.. as for a Boy and His Dog, the only thing that I found bearable about this film was the ending.

there is a criminal lack of a Boy and His Dog. The Warriors is also arguably dystopia, it's just never directly relayed to us
