Regarded as one of the most important and influential filmmakers in the history of cinema, Kurosawa directed 30 films in a career spanning 57 years. Francis Ford Coppola has said of Kurosawa “One thing that distinguishes him is that he didn’t make one masterpiece or two masterpieces. He made, you know, eight masterpieces.” My take on one of the greatest of directors, listing the fifteen films I have seen.
