Mindf*** Films

Some of these films are great, some of them are awful, but there are enough of them now that they deserve their own genre label: Mindf*** films. It’s a problematic label, for to call it a mindf*** film is, to some degree, to spoil it, as you can see. The best mindf*** films, however, like Memento or Mulholland Drive or Inception or Donnie Darko (the original, not the ruined Director’s Cut) are immune to spoiling, because they are more than one level deep.
