The Scariest Movies Ever Made

This is an alphabetical list of films that I found scary at one time or another. I no longer find a lot of them terribly disturbing, mostly because I’ve watched them so many times over the years, but a few – Night of the Living Dead, The Shining, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – still pack a wallop. I tried to pick films that have more than one frightening moment, or ones with a pervasive atmosphere of dread. What’s scary to one person will not be scary to another person, so I don’t expect you to agree with me on all of them.
