“ I couldn't find anyone else to do the pictures. Advertising and fashion photographers weren't interested: rock music wasn't their thing, and on top of that there was no acknowledgement or money to be made. So I learnt how to take photos. What interests me is the subject. I get invited to do photo books but I'm just not that bothered. I never even go to photo exhibitions! But I am interested in technology; I started using Polaroids early on and I was the first to go digital. I have no nostalgia for the grain or for the rolls of film. The best medium is the one that allows me to work the fastest.”
