“[My So Called Life] was the first pilot I'd ever auditioned for. My agent said, 'You should read this, there's a part in it that you might relate to,' which I guess was code for 'Hey homosexual, you should play this!' So I read it, and of course I felt like somebody had followed me around in my high school years and put it all in a script.”
