One of the most potent nightmare scenarios at play in Szulkin's film is that a fascist state equipped with cutting-edge technologies and motivated by a ruthless brand of instrumentalism has somehow managed to extend its jurisdiction beyond the bodies of its subjects and lay claim instead to the whole person, body, mind and soul. Here Szulkin is cutting very deep.
