“ I’m not trying to make my movie be like another movie, so I can’t tell you anything. I sat around the script for a year and a half, desperately trying to find money and getting nos and yeses that became nos. So in a last minute effort, I turned to Kickstarter and thought “Okay, if I can raise half the funds here, hopefully others will see that people are interested in something nontraditional and then I can raise other money that way.” And that was a challenge bigger than filming out in the desert, and while it was so difficult, I was also so ready for it, so the pains of doing it became joyous.”
