“Plus que le cinéma, c’est ma rencontre avec Med [Hondo] et le fait d’avoir travaillé à ses côtés, qui a compté. C’est le choc que j’ai eu de côtoyer cet homme qui venait du désert mauritanien, tout ce qu’il m’a apporté, tout ce qu’il a changé en moi. On était tellement différents d’histoire : moi, certes humaniste mais issu d’une famille bourgeoise, et lui qui venait de si loin, qui avait fait une longue route jusqu’à nous. Le choc de ma rencontre avec lui a été énorme. Énorme! Ça a changé ma vie.”
