Turquoise stones shimmer alongside the dream of unlikely community in Julian Radlmaier’s capacious and beguiling film. As interlocking stories illumine both the surreal frustrations and pleasurable delusions of romantic longing, this time-hopping fable stays satisfyingly bittersweet to the core.

Playing an awkward, cowardly version of himself with self-deprecation, director Julian Radlmaier toys with ideas of radical politics in this knowing and colorful film. Deragh Campbell costars—charmingly irreverent next to a collective of bigheaded men who argue about how to organize a better world.
