María Alché (Argentina), actress, director and screenwriter. She made her film acting debut as the protagonist of Lucrecia Martel's The Holy Girl (La niña santa). She directed the short films Noelia and Gulliver, which was selected for the ZINEBI and Locarno competitions. In 2018, she released her debut feature A Family Submerged (Familia sumergida), which premiered at Locarno and won the Horizontes Latinos Award at the San Sebastian Film Festival. At the same festival, she also won the Best Screenplay Award for her second feature film, Puan, co-directed with Benjamín Naishtat.

Marcelo Martinessi (Paraguay), director and screenwriter, whose work has interrogated inequality and conservatism in his country. He directed the short films Karai Norte, Calle última and La voz perdida, for which he won the Best Short Film award in the Orrizonti Competition at the Venice Film Festival. In 2018, his first feature film, The Heiresses (Las herederas), was part of the Official Competition at the Berlinale and won the Best First Film Award, the FIPRESCI Critics' Prize, and the Silver Bear for Best Actress.

In this episode, the hosts talk about cinema as a space in which it is possible to combine elements of the symbolic world with reality.

María and Marcelo meet here to talk about their first film experiences and the collective ritual of movie theaters.

Dirigió los cortometrajes Karai Norte, Calle última y La voz perdida, con el que ganó el León a Mejor Cortometraje en el Festival de Venecia. En 2018, su primer largometraje, Las herederas, formó parte de la Competencia Oficial de la Berlinale y obtuvo el Premio a la Mejor Ópera Prima, el Premio de la Crítica FIPRESCI y el Oso de Plata a Mejor Actriz. 

En este episodio, se habla del cine como un espacio en el que es posible conjugar elementos del mundo simbólico con la realidad.
