Alberto Gracia is a Spanish director, writer, and artist. He is one of the most outstanding names of the New Galician Cinema, although he has distanced himself from the rural world that it usually portrays.
He has directed the feature films The Fifth Gospel of Gaspar Hauser, La estrella errante and La Parra, which premiered in the official selection of the Rotterdam Festival, where he won the FIPRESCI Critics' Prize for his debut feature. He wrote the book "Microfugas, teoría y juego de la profanación", an essay that questions the representation of reality in contemporary art.
On the other hand, Theó Court is a Chilean director with Spanish roots. His short film El espino was selected for the Cinéfondation at the Cannes Film Festival and his debut feature, El ocaso, premiered in 2011 at the Rotterdam Festival.
Court has acutely explored the colonial tensions that underlie Chilean society and has examined the visual qualities of images to make the filmmaking process itself visible. His second feature, Blanco en blanco, received the Best Director Award and the FIPRESCI Critics' Prize in the Orizzonti section of the Venice Film Festival.
Alberto and Théo come together here to discuss the need to use their films to provoke reflexions on the manipulation of images through their films.

Alberto Gracia es un director, escritor y artista español. Es uno de los nombres más sobresalientes del llamado Nuevo Cine Gallego, aunque se ha desmarcado del mundo rural que éste suele retratar.
Ha dirigido los largometrajes El quinto evangelio de Gaspar Hauser, La estrella errante y La Parra, películas estrenadas en la selección oficial del Festival de Rotterdam, donde obtuvo el Premio de la Crítica FIPRESCI por su ópera prima. Es autor del libro “Microfugas, teoría y juego de la profanación”, un ensayo que cuestiona la representación de la realidad en el arte contemporáneo.
Por otro lado, Theó Court es un director chileno de ascendencia española. Su cortometraje El espino fue seleccionado en la Cinéfondation del Festival de Cannes y su ópera prima, El ocaso, se estrenó en 2011 en el Festival de Rotterdam.
Court ha explorado de manera aguda las tensiones coloniales que conforman los cimientos de la sociedad chilena y ha explorado las cualidades plásticas de la imagen para hacer visible la fabricación misma de las películas. Su segundo largometraje, Blanco en blanco, recibió el Premio a Mejor Dirección y el Premio de la Crítica FIPRESCI en la sección Orizzonti del Festival de Venecia.
