NYFF 2010. VIEWS ON VIEWS

BEN RUSSELL

Forty-five views of the New York Film Festival's Views from the Avant-Garde program—5x9 images of a three-day weekend spent indoors at the Walter Reade Theater, of eleven programs of seventy-six films/videos (and two performances), of twenty-four hours of moving images burned into our collective rods/cones.  Photographs made surreptitiously under the cover of relative darkness by Ben Russell (whose film Trypps #7 (Badlands) was screened as part of the festival), with a sheepish apology to the fellow who tapped him on the shoulder and said "Please put that away."
