Seth and Peter Scriver’s Endless Cookie (2025) is now streaming exclusively on MUBI.

Storyboard and CatMan.

The original idea for Endless Cookie (2025) was to record seven stories of Pete Scriver talking about his life in Shamattawa—a remote First Nations reserve in northern Manitoba, Canada.

At the time, Pete's house was occupied by eight kids inside and 26 dogs outside, and the constant thrum of life and distractions proved to be a challenge to the concept. We could not get through a single story without some sort of interruption: vocal family members blundering in, toilets flushing, video games blaring through paper thin walls, a dinosaur of a fridge groaning precipitously.

At first, the limitations were frustrating but eventually frustration fell away when we realized that the interruptions were hilarious and meaningful in their own right. Once we decided to embrace the narrative divergences, the vision for the project fell into place—it became a family portrait.

There is a tradition of story telling within our family and we like to think that the experience of watching this movie is similar to sitting around our kitchen table.

Here's a selection of family photos, family video chats stills, inspiring sketches and production moments from over the 9 years we recorded stories and animated them.
