Bona, released in 1980, is perhaps Lino Brocker’s best–regarded work. The title character is a young, starstruck schoolgirl (played by Nora Aunor) who falls in love with an aging actor (Phillip Salvador) and becomes his servant.

I like this film in a sense that it reminded me of my cousins and neighbors who went gaga over some actors/actresses they adore. But of course, not to the point of worshiping them. The main point of this film, is a lecture on how to tell a story: simple, clear, unafraid.
