Goha’s donkey strays into the daily caravan of learned men heading for the university, and everyone is surprised at the “donkey who went to school”. This begins Goha’s saga, as he is taken under the wing of a great scholar and local major domo Tal-el-Ouloum.

Goha Directed by Jacques Baratier

Critics reviews

Goha is devoid of technical virtuosity. It had to be, for Goha is pre-eminently anti-Figaro. Pointless to use a complicated tracking shot to follow him to the market-place. Pointless to use erudite compositions when he and his ass learn from doctors that truth is both abrasive and slippery. The sort of flashy direction rather too much in vogue today would have brought nothing to Goha but less sincerity.
