Ratings & Reviews

  1. Henri de Corinth's rating of the film Rendez-vous

A movie with Juliette Binoche, Lambert Wilson, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Anne Wiazemsky, and Olympia Carlisi really shouldn't be this boring. Watch 'La femme publique' instead.

  2. dalena's rating of the film Rendez-vous

a rock among horny men. i am provoked when she does not give what is wanted from her. and throughout the film, i crave something tender and tragic. i wanted to know of her desires. how they were bred and buttered. her mind was an infinite body of water pulled through a narrow pipe and into a modest swamp. the evolution of how an open palm became a gripping fist.

  3. Victor Morosoff's rating of the film Rendez-vous

  4. kinotopia's rating of the film Rendez-vous

another Shakespeare! b-movie with a lot of unnecessary abuse

  5. Ozu_Teapot's rating of the film Rendez-vous

  6. FISCHER's rating of the film Rendez-vous

    >>> Merveilleux trio d'acteurs dans un film remarquable entre désespoir tranquille et déchirure relationnelle où le mal de vivre se conjugue avec le besoin d'exister...

  7. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Rendez-vous

There are a fair number of similarities between this film and 'La Femme Publique'. Kaprisky is not at the same level as Binoche, but they both know how to play that objet du désir. On the face of it 'La Femme' seems more chaotic, but there are plenty of strange elements in this one to keep you guessing. Is Quentin Jesus? What makes this film better is Binoche's ability to go deep.

  8. Filipe Vinagreiro's rating of the film Rendez-vous

  9. ammar's rating of the film Rendez-vous

  10. Samuel Donath's rating of the film Rendez-vous

RAW. Seething. The actor's projection of such complex and dark emotions stay with you long after the film is finished. One of Juliette Binoche's best performances.

  11. Warren Spratley's rating of the film Rendez-vous

"Everyone's so mysterious." The underlying thematic: horrendous force, force of mise en scene, force of the body and of gender, and the tragic and dazzling acceptance of force. RENDEZ-VOUS is one of the great 80s films and at least as stunning as MAUVAIS SANG. "You can never save anybody."

  12. Shayan Bazri's rating of the film Rendez-vous

another example of techine's obsession with identity in his first movies.

  13. Karthik's rating of the film Rendez-vous

A film that Black Swan, its hep cartoon double desperately tried to be. If someone had told me the story beforehand, I probably would have avoided seeing it and it is a measure of its assured and bizarre force that it can handle such a crazy story with incredible literary (Cathy between Heathcliff and Linton) and cinematic resonances (all the making of a performer films) with such odd power & such strange humanism

  14. Howard Fritzson's rating of the film Rendez-vous

I think that this is Juliet Binoche's rawest and most exciting performance. She has never been this free again. From what I have heard, she regrets the nudity she displays here but she has since developed a protective shell that limits her expressiveness.

  15. Lorna Singh's rating of the film Rendez-vous

Sometimes, even a great actress cannot save a screenplay which just meanders. Binoche appears to be always in a hurry,so maybe if she slowed down a bit,we could feel something for her "plight".

  16. carolvidal's rating of the film Rendez-vous

funny conection with TROIS COULEURS: BLEU... Binoche and appartments in Paris... Great story, characters and movie!
