Like most horror movies things start out promising and moves on nicely with an interesting plot and great tension and pretty effective scares. HOWEVER... unfortunately things end up in a rut I´m sorry to say and the ending is pretty stupid and does not really deliver the way I wanted it to. The best bit is Ted Levine's take on Hunter S. Thompson which is quite hilarious.
My personal favorite kind of horror movie - one in which shocking, disturbing images do the trick, popping up here and there in a mystery-driven premise. Not too self-consciously restrained (like critics favorites The Babadook and It Follows) and not too over-the-top either (like them damn torture porn things).
