“ Making it as a series, we were all aware that there’s an appetite from the audience for character development these days in a way that perhaps there wasn’t thirty years ago. When you were doing these two-hour filmettes, you could dip in and out, and it wouldn’t matter too much. Certainly across the last ten years, with the rise of the boxset and HBO and all that, it’s become something that people do want to see. You’re not just pressing a reset button at the end of each film, and they can enjoy the experience with the characters they’ve become invested in.”
