Nadine (Ingrid Thulin) turns to prostitution after realizing her husband Elliot, the Swedish ambassador to Greece, is more interested in his male secretary. She finds a dock worker, Nikos, able to fulfill her, but things get even more complicated when his sister enters the picture.
