Nobuhiko Obayashi directed this 1986 film based on the novel of the same title by Yoshio Kataoka. His stylish direction uses B/W and colour photography. It stars Kiwako Harada (this marks her movie debut, and she has a nude scene which was quite a sensation when it came out).
