Based on 3 of Kalle Päätalo’s autobiographical novels taking place in northern Finland in the 1930’s. Kalle is a young man forced to provide for his family because of his father’s mental illness. In addition to lumberjacking, Kalle becomes interested in the opposite sex and a career as a writer.
