Our Daily Bread #4

Trees and buildings: the end of the 20th century in Ferrara and Straub-Huillet

Two films from the conclusion of the 20th Century. A city and a tree.  Day and Night. Color and black & white.  From right to left and from left to right. The future and the past.

New Rose Hotel (Abel Ferrara, 1998)
Sicilia! (Daniele Huillet & Jean-Marie Straub, 1999)

Our Daily Bread is a column on not necessarily beautiful images, nor similar images, but images that when brought together interact in meaningful ways.

Are my posts being censored? I’ll try again: “I’m always around. Nothing much to say. Apparently I’m not alone in that.”

Yeah, saw your previous comment. Regardless of how I feel about the piece, not sure why that was censored, if that is the case.
Deleted
I dig the piece, but indeed there seems not much to say, one way or another.

I’ll write it off as an anomaly (the disappearance of my original post, not the visual essay).
Please stick to discussing content and not quality, which is discourteous, which is why they were edited.

Huh? Content and not quality? That doesn’t make any sense. Can I make a qualitiative assessment on the content? And what exactly did I say that was discourteous? And was I “edited”, or erased (if that sounds better than censored)?
