“When you’re an outsider in a foreign land, you often can’t rely on language for communication. Many thoughts are internalized and moments of interaction get reduced to their visual essence. I suppose because of this I developed an early interest in both writing and photography. Filmmaking was just the logical evolution of those interests.”
