“As a writer, you often have a clear vision for the story, and even the character arcing and the architecture of the movie. When I started to think about it, I was feeling it more [with Dark Phoenix] than I had felt other scripts. I was really feeling and seeing the tone, the vibe of the movie. That to me is what a director does is he or she creates the tone of the film.”
