RED ARMY

Red Army is a feature documentary about the Soviet Union and the most successful dynasty in sports history: the Red Army hockey team. Told from the perspective of its captain Slava Fetisov, the story portrays his transformation from national hero to political enemy.

Sports and history might be two very different disciplines, but at times they correlate in ways that sheds a new and unprecedented light on both subjects. As fast-paced and vigorous as ice hockey, Red Army presents a wholly unseen facet of the Soviet machine, seen through the US’ point of view.
