Women By Women: 52 Trailblazing Debuts

We are delighted to bring one of our favourite 2017 debuts exclusively to MUBI: Léa Mysius’ AVA!

To coincide with this online premiere, we’ve compiled a list of great debuts by women, about women.
Consider this list just the tip of the iceberg; it is not a canon. There remain thousands of artists to discover and champion.

PS. New York, be advised: programmer extraordinaire Nellie Killian is launching a new film series on Feb 2nd at the Metrograph, called Tell Me: Women Filmmakers, Women’s Stories. Don’t sleep on it!
