RIP Uncle Jess. The master of delirium. Seen over twenty films of his and still have hundreds to discover. The first ten on this list are all masterpieces of sex, blood and sadism, all with a distinct jazzy dreaminess. I also have a soft spot for his exploitations (his women-in-prison movies etc.) and trashy ‘failures’ made simply for money (Bloody Moon, The Devil Hunter etc). So far though I find the early black and white films (his most critically acclaimed) to be excruciatingly dull and have no real interest in anything post-Faceless...
