Movie Poster of the Week: An Index

The past six years of movie poster articles organized neatly.
Adrian Curry

Above: 1965 East German poster by Fritsche for Il Posto (Ermanno Olmi, Italy, 1961).

Six years ago last week I wrote my first Movie Poster of the Week post for MUBI, then known as The Auteurs. Since then I have written over 270 articles on all facets of movie posters from the sublime to the ridiculous and I decided it was high time I organized them. In the early days of Movie Poster of the Week it was just that: one weekly poster that I would briefly discuss with at most one or two others included for comparison’s sake. But even in that debut post, what started out as a simple personal anecdote about a poster I liked ended up with my searching for the designer, the print shop that produced it and the provenance of the photograph used in the poster. Over time, as my research has led me down longer and more intricate rabbit holes, the articles have become more comprehensive, rarely just about one single poster but more often about a designer or a filmmaker, a genre or a design trend. And when I have devoted myself to a single film I have tried to find every international poster for that film. So I thought it might be useful to create an index of all my posts to date, sorted into different categories, for those who are interested. I will add to this list as time goes on, so if you care to you could bookmark this page for future reference.
